Christmas Banquet

The highlight event of the year for FiftyPlus Ministries is our annual Christmas Banquet. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Marcia Plaxton and Lois Smith in developing the theme, each year seems to get better as we come together to celebrate the birth of our Savior. Starting in December 2007, we had 65 people in attendance in Room M102.It soon became apparent that we needed a larger venue. The last three years we met in Room M105. In 2010, we had 145 in attendance and have now outgrown the Ministry Center. This year we will be in the Worship Center and are anticipating a bigger attendance than last year.

Our Christmas Banquets have featured great music, drama, fellowship, and some outstanding speakers. Last year, we were blessed to have Bob Kraning, formerly of Forest Home, as our speaker. Jerry Flasschoen did an excellent monologue of Nicodemus, and our Trinity brass section provided some great music of the season. Everyone really liked the opportunity to socialize and view the Nativity sets from around the world during the hors d’oevres.

The FiftyPlus Core Committee is working on the program for this year’s banquet which will be held on December 14. We will be hosting the High Desert Chorale which Trinity members are invited to join. Please make your plans now to be with us that evening and don’t let the “FiftyPlus” title keep you from being a part of this great celebration. -by Paul Plaxton
